Young heartthrob Nivin Pauly ’s next Tamil movie, Richie, will be released on December 1, its makers have revealed. Not only in Kerala, Nivin Pauly has a huge fan base in Tamil Nadu, thanks to Alphonse Putharen’s Premam.
The actor has not had a direct release in Tamil since Neram.
Ulidavaru Kandante’s remake
Richie is a remake of Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandante directed by Rakshit Shetty. The Tamil version of the film is being directed by Gautham. B. Ajaneesh Loknath has scored the music.
Ulidavaru Kandante is about a woman journalist who is on a mission to uncover the truth behind an incident, and the story is told from five different perspectives.
The film involves a combination of five stories connected by person’s murder, with each character narrating from his or her own perspective.
This action-crime film has Nivin playing the lead role, with Shraddha Srinath as the heroine.
Nivin Pauly plays the title character Richie, who is a local rowdy. Cinematographer-turned-actor Natty plays the role of a boat mechanic.
Nivin Pauly, Ashok Selvan, Shraddha Srinath, Lakshmi Priyaa play the leading roles while Prakash Raj plays strong supporting role.
A teaser of the film was released on Saturday and has taken the internet by storm. In less than 23 hours since its online release, the teaser has recorded more than 4 million views.
Post Richie, Nivin Pauly’s will be seen in Kayamkulam Kochunni, directed by Roshan Andrews.
With box-office hit movies like Premam, Sakhavu, and Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela, expectations are high over Richie in Kollywood.
