Veteran actor Sridevi’s demise on Saturday has left the entire nation in a state of shock. While the entire film fraternity across states and her fans are still coming to terms with her death, the legend has already set out on her final journey.
Fans and industry personnel have been thronging the Celebration Sports Club in Mumbai’s Lokhandwala, to pay their last respects to Sridevi. The cremation has been scheduled at 3:30 p.m. today.
While India grieves the loss of its legend, the icon is being cremated with state honors. Yesteryear film actress Hema Malini had put up an emotional tweet after bidding goodbye to Sridevi.
Paid my last respects to Sridevi. The entire industry was there grieving, some on the verge of breakdown. Such was her aura & magic in films. She lay there, beautiful in a red saree, serene in death & totally at peace. 😢

Sridevi was awarded the Padma Shri award in 2013, for her contributions to the field of entertainment. A name that many of us grew up with, Sridevi will forever be remembered as the doe-eyed beauty that swayed our hearts across several languages.
