On Wednesday morning, the engine of Pallavan superfast express train derailed near Trichy railway station. The incident happened around 6.30 a.m and there are no casualties reported.
After the technical team re-railed the train, it departed to Trichy station by 9.45 a.m. Due to this incident, train-traffic remained disrupted for few hours.
According to reports, Madurai-Chennai Vaigai Express, Trichy-Karaikudi, Trichy-Dindigul, Intercity Express trains and Trichy- Rameswaram passenger trains were delayed.
Following the immediate action by the technical team, train traffic on the route was restored in few hours. Pallavan express, which started from Karaikudi at 4 a.m is expected to reach Chennai railway station by 12.20 p.m.
