April 4, 2018, was a special day for Ishan, the 6-year-old terminally ill cancer patient, whose dream of becoming a Police Commissioner came true.

It all started after, Make a Wish Foundation, a non-profit organisation that arranges ‘wishes’ for children with life-threatening medical conditions, approached Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat to fulfil Ishan’s dream.

The Rachakonda police welcomed the little kid with a ceremonial salute before entering the Commissioner’s Office and made him their Commissioner for a day on Wednesday. Donning the khaki uniform for a day, Ishan was all excited when the Police officials gave him the prestigious salute and shook hands with them.

At the press conference, talking to media, Ishan, the little commissioner said that he wanted to monitor the law-and-order problems in Rachakonda Commisionarate. He also added that he would ensure women security in the city.

Ishan is suffering from blood cancer and has been undergoing treatment at MNJ cancer institute. Ishan and family hail from Medak district, adjoining Hyderabad.
