Forests are a source of shadow, shelter, refreshment, air, and water. Remember running to the shades when it’s too hot? But as the population grows there’s a demand for land and for materials from forests which ultimately lead to deforestation and degradation. According to sources, there is an annual loss of 13 million hectares of greenery and many dislocated animal species.

The World Forestry Day provides an opportunity to all the people to learn more about the importance of forests. Nearly 30% of land mass is said to be occupied by more than 60,000 species of trees which provide food, shelter, fodder, resins, gums, medicines, essential oils, fuel and latex.

So are you willing to wake up and do your part to stop deforestation? Plant a sapling today.
