From April 1, 2018, toll plaza rates are set to be increased by 5% to 7%. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has said that the rates for monthly passes (50 trips per month) have also been increased.
The revision happens at the start of every financial year, in sync with Wholesale Price Index (WPI).
The revision of toll rates is expected to have a cascading effect on the prices of essential commodities as well.
