“Keep a healthy bank balance; it will help you walk out of unwanted/bad relationships and protect your dignity,” actress Jyothika quoted her mum as saying, in a recently-held award function.

‘Keep your head high’

The Magalir Mattum actress continued, “There are many women who are behind me. First, at the age of 17 it was my mother. Once she told, ‘Jo, you have to stand here and face people, So face the world.’ and ‘put some money in your bank because if you haven’t met the right man, keep your head high and walk out of the relationship. It’s not worth it.’”

Jyothika also added that her daughter Diya’s smile ‘gives her strength’ and makes her feel ‘like an empowered woman’. She stressed that she wants her daughter to be a strong woman when she grows up.

“Her smile every morning is my empowerment. I will make sure she stands on this place, receiving this award,” said the actress.

Jyothika’s next project

The actress is set to appear in Bala’s Naachiyaar, starring opposite music director-turned-actor G.V. Prakash. The music for the film is composed by maestro Ilayaraja.

She has also reportedly signed for a multi-starrer Mani Ratnam movie, which includes Arvind Swamy, Silambarasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Fassil, and Aishwarya Rajesh. The music will be composed by A.R. Rahman.
