The shooting of actor Suriya’s upcoming project with director Selvaraghavan was formally launched on the first day of 2018 with a simple Pooja. Tentatively titled, Suriya 36, the movie will go on floors with its first schedule on January 18. Produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie will hit screens on Deepavali this year.

Currently, Suriya is awaiting the release of Vignesh Shivn directorial Thaana Serndha Koottam which will hit big screens on Pongal 2018. Thaana Serndha Koottam, which is based on the 2013 Bollywood flick Special 36, has Keerthy Suresh in the female lead.

Meanwhile, Selvaraghavan is also helming Mannavan Vanthanadi starring Santhanam and Aaditi Pohankar in the lead roles. His long-delayed horror thriller Nenjam Marappathillai, is expected to hit theatres this year.
