On Tuesday, Forbes published its annual list of the world’s billionaires, ranking them in terms of net worth. Leaping past Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has become the richest person on the earth, with a net worth of $112 billion at the end of 2017.

Mukesh Ambani – The richest Indian

India has 121 billionaires on the list of 2,208 billionaires worldwide. Indian business magnate Mukesh Ambani leads the list with the net worth of $40.1 billion. Mukesh, the richest Indian, stands in the 19th global rank on the list. In 2017, Mukesh was in 33rd position and has moved up this year from $23.2 billion to $40.1 billion.

In 2017, there were 102 Indians on the list, and this year, 19 more Indians have joined the world’s billionaires list. Software entrepreneur is the second richest Indian, ranked 58, with a net worth $18.8 billion. International steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal is ranked third among Indians.

Savitri Jindal – the richest Indian Woman

Savitri Jindal of the Jindal steel and power conglomerate is the richest Indian woman on the Forbes list. Ranked 176th globally, Savitri has a net worth $8.8 billion. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the founder of biopharma firm Biocon in 1978, is the second Indian woman in the Forbes list. Ranked 629 globally, Kiran has a net worth of $3.6 Billion.
