A war of words has erupted between Thaana Serndha Kootam director Vignesh Shivn and film news tracker Kaushik L.M on Twitter. It all started with a tweet from Kaushik.
“With ‘No Hits’ for the trade in Jan, Tamil cinema would be looking at a much much better Feb. Hope the Hit meter is kickstarted (sic),” the film tracker tweeted.

The tweet has irked actor Suriya’s fans and Vignesh Shivn, his latest movie’s director, alike.
Following his ‘no hits in Jan.’ tweet, Kaushik was at the receiving end of multiple messages targeting him for implying that Thaana Serndha Kootam was not a hit. Urging his followers to ignore the negativity, director Vignesh Shivan to ignore the negativity, director Vignesh Shivan said, “Gone r the days whn we used to enjoy every film! Every1 has become critical abt evrything! not needed (sic)”.
A film’s number game is only a producer’s thing! Audience r here to enjoy,It’s all jus entertainment!

It a beautiful life &let’s jus try to be positive😍#IgnoreNegativity— Vignesh ShivN (@VigneshShivN) February 1, 2018
And, it didn’t end there.
On Friday, Vignesh Shivn asked the news tracker to “stop chumma (simply) tweeting”, adding, “U have no clue how & where a film wins! (sic)”
It’s better these Maniacs stop with chumma tweeting to sum innocent heroines: like “ gorgeous pics’aww.. wow.. 😍😍.. cho chweet! & then getting likes and some replies back😀

Thaana Serndha Kootam was released on Pongal this year. The movie also features Keerthy Suresh, Ramya Krishnan, and Senthil in important roles.
On a related note, S.R. Prabhu of Aruvi fame spoke about the importance of audience appreciating performances rather than collections.
Trade tracker / film critic / reviewer / media journalist – Competition brought all these roles to one. They feed unnecessary information to audience. Now fans fight on collection than content. Is there nothing to speak about content and performance of actor for fans? SCARY!!
