Maari 2– the ambitious Dhanush-Balaji Mohan sequel began rolling a few months ago and it was revealed that Sai Pallavi will be playing the female lead in the movie. As time progressed, more details were revealed about the cast and crew.
It was announced that Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring music for the film and the Dhanush-Yuvan combo is back after nearly a decade. Mollywood actor Tovino Thomas plays the antagonist in the movie, along with Yogi Babu, Krishna and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in significant roles.
Balaji Mohan reveals Maari 2 shooting details
In a recent update, director Balaji Mohan revealed on Twitter that the shooting for the movie is ‘progressing at a brisk pace’ and the movie is likely to release in the second half of the year.
“Happy that #Maari2 shoot is progressing at brisk pace & is 40% done. Will resume after the strike & targeting release in the second half of 2018 @dhanushkraja @Sai_Pallavi92 @Actor_Krishna @ttovino @varusarath @thisisysr (sic.)” read his tweet.
It is now clear that Maari 2 will resume shooting after the TFPC strike against digital service providers and Dhanush fans are highly excited to see their favorite don back on screen.
The prequel starred Dhanush and Kajal Agarwal in the lead and was a blockbuster at the box office. Going by the stills released from the movie, it is most likely that Maari 2 will also work the same magic at the box office.
