Late actor Sridevi was honoured with the National Award for Best Actress on May 3, at the 65th National Awards. She was conferred the award for her role in the thriller movie Mom. In a long career spanning 5 decades, this marks Sridevi’s first National Award.
Sridevi breathed her last earlier this year and is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and their daughters Jhanvi and Kushi Kapoor. Her award was received by her family.
It is to be noted that President Ram Nath Kovind spoke of Sridevi in his speech saying that she will be remembered forever.
While Sridevi’s family and the film fraternity is still coming to terms with her passing away, daughter Jhanvi Kapoor made heads turn at the Award ceremony.
In an emotional gesture, Jhanvi was seen wearing her mother’s saree and looked like a mirror image of Sridevi. Social media was immediately flooded with pictures of Sridevi wearing the same saree at actor Ram Charan’s wedding.
