A nueroendocrine cell can be found anywhere in the body from the lungs to the gastrointestinal tract. They perform specific functions, including regulation of blood and air flow. A nueroendicrine tumor is a cluster of hormone producing endocrine cells and nerve cells.

These tumors most commonly arise in the intestine, but some types also occur in the pancreas. There are many types of nueroendocrine tumors and most are malignant.

The much-loved actor had earlier announced that he was undergoing serious health issues and there had been no official diagnosis as yet. He had even requested the public and the media to not raise speculations about his health.
