Nearly 100 people were killed as a dust storm and rain showers ravaged parts of North India in the evening of May 2.
According to reports, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are the worst hit, with collapsed houses and power outages. Reports also say that people were sleeping when their roofs collapsed on top of them, unable to withstand the storm.
It is being feared that the death toll may rise and a detailed report on the calamity is expected.
Financial aid has been released to the families of the deceased and the injured.
While the storm has wrecked havoc in many parts of Northern India, reports say that officials are attempting swift action to remedy the situation.
